Shameous: A memoir about the pain of shame prescribed by the church and a way to freedom.

Shameous

Shameous is what happens when trauma latches onto a person. Trauma comes in all kinds of forms. For me, it came in the form of a learning disability, sexual abuse, body shame, religious persecution and sexual orientation condemning. It took me 43 years to live more authentically, freely, happily, and deeply connected to God. I wrote this book to help shed light on the impact of shame on a person’s life. Shame comes in all forms and can be bestowed upon an individual with no intention. Shameous can hide so well that no one will ever suspect he is binding a person.
As you read my story and my ‘coming-out’ process, I hope you will gain insight into the LGBTQIA+ community and how you can best support people like me within your church, community and family. Shameous is a book about my journey to wholeness and the deepening of my relationship with God. If you are where I was just a few years ago, there is hope, you are not alone, and God does love you just the way He made you.
